On Twitter, I found the very interesting citation of Mr. Enric Soriano from Mourinho’s words.

So, I will just note it here and translate in some language, which I’m working with.

There are coaches who do not want to know anything about the opponent, but I’m not kind of this type. I was one of the first coaches who talk about the game model.  At the time, for me,  there was only one system and a set of principles. Now, I believe in it, that the football game is being a much more strategic game. So, I train more than one system and more than one way to play at the beginning of the season. I think, all teams will b e better when they adapt themselves to more than one system to play.

監督の中には、対戦相手の全てを知ろうとは思わない人もいる。私はそうではない。私はゲームモデルについて話し始めた最初のひとりだったと思うが、当時はひとつのシステムに合わせた原則の集まりに過ぎなかった。今では、ますます戦術的なゲームになってきている。だから、今ではプレシーズンの準備の段階で複数のシステムを用いて、複数のプレースタイルでプレーできるようにトレーニングしている。個人的には、それらが浸透すれば、全てのチームが良くなると思っている。

Manche Trainer wollen nicht alles über seinen Gegner wissen. Ich gehöre nicht diesen Typen. Ich glaube, ich bin einer der ersten Trainer, die über das Spielmodell gesprochen haben. Damals war es für mich nur über ein System und die Gesamteinheit der Prinzipien dieses Modells. Aber jetzt glaube ich, dass das Fußballspiel viel mehr strategisches Spiel geworden ist. Deswegen trainiere ich jetzt am Anfang der Saison mehr als ein System und mehr als eine Spielweise. Ich glaube, die alle Mannschaften werden besser, wenn sie es adaptieren.
